The runaways are labeled so because, well, they ran away. These are usually those forced into the Project and don't want to stay. Most of these runaways become rebels, especially those who took advantage of the body enhancers and the the free knowledge. The weapons the Government use have three levels, stun, tranquilize, and kill. Kill is used only on runaways and told to "go wild". Besides getting those the Government asks them to get, Hunters spend most of their time tracking down Runaways.
If you happen to find yourself as a Runaway, there is one thing you need to think about first and foremost. The anklet around your ankle? It sends a tracking beacon back to the Project. I would suggest getting it off in anyway you can otherwise your next step, hiding, would be in vain. Once you have your anklet off, I would highly suggest you lay low for awhile. The Government will be like a woman on her monthly and will be all crazy looking for you and all crazy over the fact you just broke out. Find a spot, quickly, and STAY. After a few weeks, things will begin to settle and one Hunter will be left looking for you. Then you can start moving around a little more and finding those rumored Runaway groups you've been hearing about. I'd suggesting first looking around in the Wilds'. It's widely known that the Runaways have been owning this territory. More places to hide than in the city. Besides, the Rebels have staked claim to the dangerous Undergrounds.
You have a choice now, being freed, you can stay with the Runaways in their little makeshift groups they've made and stay hiding your whole life or find a way to join the rebels. Keep in mind, as a Runaway, you are completely free from the demands of life and the rules of structure and society. If you wait long enough, you might be able to become a civilian again and continue on with the mundane way of life. If you're lucky anyway...
